    I updated(Flashed) the BIOS from
ASUS P2B ACPI BIOS Revision 1012
    to
ASUS P2B ACPI BIOS Revision 1014 BETA 003
When I try to install Windows 98SE from CD drive
    I get the following BIOS error message;
    CD-ROM: Failure
I tried three different working CD dives
    and get the same error!!!
However Windows 98 Boot disk worked OK to install.
How do I fix this BIOS problem?
Is there some problem with the CD disk,
CD-ROM dive, BIOS or something else?

Also Windows 98SE does not turn off correctly.
I installed Windows 98SE fix, this ddnot work!!!
    How do fix this problem?

Also the Windows 98SE start-up takes to long.
Is there some way to fix this problem?

    Thank You

Was there a particular reason that you flashed your bios? Not just any bios, but a beta bios?

Are you using one IDE ribbon cable for the cdrom drive?

Some old computers will not shutdown all the way, due to acpi not supported.

You havnt got a bootable copy of windows, using a startup disk is exactly the same thing as a bootable cdrom, get the latest upgates from microsoft to fix the shutdown issues. ;)

The Win98 Installation CD will boot up on another computer?
    The CD is OK!!!
The CD drive is on one IDE cable.
Also Windows 98SE does not turn off correctly.
I installed Microsoft Windows 98SE fix,
    this didnot correct the problem!!!
The system hangs-up with Windows Shutting down screen.
    Is this a BIOS problem?
    How do fix this problem?

Also the Windows 98SE start-up takes to long.

Someone suggested that the Beta BIOS would fix my problems!!!
The Beta BIOS works the same as the old BIOS version.
