Your Privacy is in danger download privacy software now

    Ok, first off, i read the sticky threads, however it didn't help

    Yesterday afternoon, i logged onto my computer, to find a red background with text "Your Privacy is in danger download privacy software now". I knew i had a spyware/virus issue, so i ran Avast/Adaware/Spyware removal programs. I managed to get rid of the background and thought the problem was over. However, i had the same problem again when i logged on this morning. Any help on how to permanently remove this would be appreciated.

    List of symptoms

    *No Task Manager
    *Red hyperlinked desktop with "Your Privacy is in danger download privacy software now" text and a hazardous materials sign.
    *Constant popups advertising spyware and privacy programs

    EDIT:
    I believe the name of the virus is "SmitFraud"

    The stickies aren't just for reading and running. They also ask for logs to be posted if you are still experiencing problems after running all the cleaners.Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. These will allow the Malware Fighters to assist you.

    for the record, i believe that the program "SmitFraudFix" has solved the problem. Below is a report from this program

    Maybe and maybe not. You really should follow the instructions that Lev gave to you. Be sure to attach logs and not post them inline like you did with SmitFraudFix.

    My point is that these infections often do not come alone and you could have problems and not know it. That is why I was recommending that you attach the logs from the READ & RUN ME. In greater than 75% of cases where people think they are clean, they are not. Just because you don't see a symptom anymore, it does not always mean you are clean. However, the choice is yours if you don't wish to really know if you are clean.
