Monitor has horizontal lines

Hello,
I turned off my laptop and when I turned it back on the lower two thirds had horizontal white lines.
I tried tilting it but the lines stay.
I did connect an external monitor and the picture is fine, so I guess it's not the graphic card.
How can I find out if it's the monitor itself or maybe just a connector cable?
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A305-6829
