quad cores are here....almost

somewhat impressive but at the same time seems kind of unnecessary with dual cores yet to achieve maximum compatibility and functionality.

 

Yes...one cant help but wonder if this feirce battle for market supremacy between the two microprocessing giants is outstripping technology advancements in random access memory developement and system bus speeds.
Then again, the way software is heading it wont be long before we all need an Intel quad core just to run our new photoshop pro...lol
I realize that functionality is greatly reduced, but i swear that my 500 mHz pentium III, runs windows 95 just as fast as my 1.8 gHz AMD athlon 64 runs my XP pro SP2!!!

 

Lol as if having a dual core isnt enough

 

I don't think I need any more processing power but I would hate to go back to my p3 800 (R.I.P.) or dialup or burning my os partitions to cd's instead of dvds. If I start using it I'll probably want it.
