I have been having a few problems with my laptop, which is an Acer Aspire 5336 and it is 64 bit with windows 7. Now, my problems with it is one, it is freezing up while watching movies and two I am continually getting an error code 403-20 on a site that I have visited numerous times. I will get half way through and then throws that error. Another problem I have been having is with my internet. It will randomly just go out. It is only doing on my laptop and none of the other computers in my home. I began to get pop ups and just today I got a weird popup that said my email has been suspended due to suspicious activity and that I needed to call Microsoft at some weird number. I could not close the window I had to manually end the process to get it to go away. I have ran many scans before deciding to find a help forum and a little over a week or two (which is when this started) one of the scanners found and removed a hijacker or something like that. I would really appreciate it if someone could take a look at what is going on with my computer.
    Thanks. Shawna

I am not seeing any malware in your logs. Did you have MBAM fix what it found? If not, do so.

We can remove some crap in your temp folders and the ask bar:

Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    • Right-click OTM.exe And select " Run as administrator " to run it.
    • Paste the following code under the [IMG] area. Do not include the word Code.

    Code:
    :Processes
    explorer.exe

    :files
    C:\Users\curtis\AppData\Local\Temp\*.*
    c:\wINDOWS\TEMP\*.*

    :reg
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{C8275C8E-D277-431E-B4D3-E2A034F3F318}]

    :Commands
    [purity]
    [ResetHosts]
    [start explorer]
    [Reboot]

    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large [IMG] button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it in your next reply.

Now navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder ( assuming your Windows drive is C). This is where your log will be saved in the form of Date and Time mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Just look for the most recent .log file. Attach this log file to your next message.

I will probably have to send you to the software forum for further assistance.

Thanks for replying TimW. I did delete what mbam found. I think I made a mistake because I did not copy the results in OTM before restarting. I can rerun it if you would like. I am sorry. Shawna

    How are things running now?

It is still doing the same things but now it seems to be happening on the other computers in my home. I am getting an error, while trying to watch videos, movies, and tv shows, that says I need to check my network settings. I have called my internet provider and they say everything looks good. Oh and another thing that has been happening is iobit keeps alerting me that something is trying to alter my homepage. I always click block but I have no clue what is trying to change it. I did run a scan using Panda scanner (I didn't change anything) but it seems to have found some things. I saved it in case you would like to see it.

Mostly junk, not malware. What issues are you still having?

Yesterday a warning from oibit that my homepage was being changed. Then this morning while watching a video half way through the picture went out but not the sound, and an error appeared that said my network setting needed to be checked. The same things are now happening on all my computers. Also the internet just randomly goes out. My router isn't that old so I don't believe that is the issue. I was wondering is it possible that there is a virus on another computer that could be causing me to have issues on this computer? Could it be changing the settings on my network?

Doubtful. I suggest you post in the software forum for additional assistance.

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
