    Hi, new member here.

I'll start out with the fact that I'm am not very computer advanced. I'm a banker and I got something on my work laptop.

Since it is my work laptop, I don't visit a lot of sites that would normally be associated with getting viruses or malware. The only thing I could think of is that after getting a new PDA, I was looking around at some of the free downloads for Pocket PC's around the time it started. The main thing was getting random pop-ups and things like that. Now my wallpaper background is this big WARNING flashing sign saying Trojans have been found on my computer. I've tried to change the background, but it's locked up and won't allow me to change it.

Like I said, this is my work computer. My work uses Symantec Endpoint Protection. I ran a full scan immediately after the problems started, and it removed some files, but it did not solve the problem (I'll post the risk log below). After running several of those scans, I downloaded Malwarebytes, and when I run a scan, it goes for about 1 1/2 minutes and then freezes up and stops responding. It says it's found 28 or so infected files, but after at least 6 attempts, it won't finish scanning.

So I'm at a loss of what to do. I'm worried that with my type of job (banking) that if I have some type of spyware on there, customer information could be comprimised. My bank is a very small community bank, so the IT people there are kind of a joke, everything is outsourced, and it will take weeks for someone from our provider to get something done on this, so I was hoping I could take care of it myself.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

here is the log from the Symantec Endpoint scan:

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. To avoid addtional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advise that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky Don't Bump! It Only Hurts You!!!. Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.
