IE, background / background colors not showing

As it says above, no backgrounds to any site are showing, and around the MajorGeeks.com picture above (should be tan around it), it shows white everywhere where there should be tan on this page. Any help or suggestions?

well, i'm working on a restriced 'puter here and i have no permission to 'screw around' in my internet options but i remeber vaguely that there was an option there that could disable this.. did you already cheked internet options?

if you got an hour or two, i'm at home and there i could look around a bit :?

Ok, I fixed it up, just did a quick uninstall / reinstall of IE. But now I have another problem -

If I open a folder, or My Computer, etc., it won't close except for Ctrl + Alt + Del. Then when I click End Task it gives me the blue screen. Any suggestions on this problem?

 

Well, everything was in fine and perfect running order until I reinstalled my IE. I wouldn't think that it got rid of service packs because I reinstalled it.
