Folder options gone!!!!!

I cant hide or unhide folders. I go to start\settings and there is no folders option there now. I go to control panel\displays\web tab\folder options and it comes up but the option to hide or unhide folders is not there. I had a virus yesterday but got rid of it. Then today I had problems with it dialing up by itself , but fixed it (thanks to Major Geeks) I wanted to unhide everything and make sure I didnt see anything unuasual. But now this How can I fix this Thanks

As far as i can remember 98 you should be able to open a normal explorer window not a browser one
hit the view tab--advanced settings-option to show hidden files is there-apply the change and press ok

 

Yes but its not there. In the folder options hide and unhide options are not even there. They were there yesterday. But its not there today.
