Just out of curiosity, are Celeron processors a bad thing? I know, I know, I should not replace it. I would like to know what makes one better than another? Mine is 2.4 GHZ. Is that small? Bear with me as we travel down "teach the computer daft how to compute" lane. Thanks for the help. :)

One main feature of Celerons is the lack of a better L2 cache, a secondary feature is lack of (for example) more on-chip controllers / features that accellerate the instructions running through it; ie a memory controller on-die instead of on the motherboard.

pentium 3 only went to 1.0 or 1.2 gig i believe 2.4 gig is a p4. As far as the chip itself they do well for people who arent into running too many tasks at once. They do well even for running games. celerons have improved over time and that makes them a good budget part. my 3 cents worth :)
