    Hi,

I installed Zone Alarm last night and it keeps giving me alerts about an I.P. Address that is trying to access the internet (or something similar to that, can't remember the exact phrasing). Anyway, my son's computer and mine are connected via router. I realize I can add an I.P. Address to the safe zone but cannot figure out how to find out what each computer's I.P. Address is. How do I find this info? I am running Windows 2000 Professional. If you need more info please let me know and if I have the wrong forum let me know where I should post this and I'll repost.

    Thanks,
    Cheri

Thanks for your opinion. But, I've had no problems as of yet. Just trying to get my pc and my son's insyc. If Zone Alarm is not a good Firewall why would it be available on here and was recommended to me by one of the other Major Geeks Tech's after he helped me to clean up a nasty virus I had picked up? If I need to uninstall this firewall I'd appreciate a Tech letting me know. I do not need any more problems. I just got my pc running smoothly again.

    Thanks,
    Cheri

Click on "Start" then "Run" and then type cmd in the Run box then click OK. You will now have a DOS box on your screen (black) now type in ipconfig and hit return and you will see your IP address and subnet.

Thank you for that help. I found it with no problem. Can you tell me if there is a problem with running Zone Alarm??? Is this ok to be using or should I uninstall and use a different one from the list on Majorgeeks???

I have been using Zone alarm for years now with no problems sometimes the updates can be a bit of a pain but other than that I have no complaints.
