    Hi

As times have changed since SP1, its now a requisite to install the Microsoft UAA driver located HERE unless you have SP3 installed as SP3 has the UAA driver built in. SO try installing the UAA driver then installing the realtek audio driver again, plus is that audio driver one from your PC makers site or one just found on the internet? as in the main its best to stick with the ones that the PC maker issues as at times they do customise the chips.

One of the reasons why its argued to keep your PC fully upto date with all OS updates and patches.

Indeed, at times a pre-requisite update is needed for another update or driver to work, Windows does at times have a few of these crop up and UAA was one of them.

Just on 2nd Tuesday of every month run Windows Udpate to check for critical updates.
