Flashing avatars

To MajorGeek bosses, I hate flashing stuff and annoying sounds over which I have no control setting on my PC. How can I turn off/disable those bloody annoying flashing avatars.

can they be banned from MG? Should we start a members poll? Baz

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. 3 of them on the same page on the same post are bl**dy annoying IMHO. Maybe you can investigate a way they can be turned on or off as a default setting in MG. I hate them, probably explains why Freecell is the only game I play on my PC (it makes you think if you are trying to get more than 47 out at one time. It is quiet and unobtrusive. My record is 49 out, more than once. Yes, I have the printscreens to prove it.) Baz

you can disable them in IE with the following

open IE
go to tools
internet options
advanced tab
then disable the following under multimedia
play animations in webpages and play sounds in webpages

Thanks. Have done. Will see it if works under AOL which sits on top of IE. I don/t run IE deliberately, on it's own, (minimising AOL first), except when I visit a couple of websites where AOL/IE causes lockup probs, Baz
