 I am no tech girl

I defragmented my comp. on a saturday night.
On sunday morning I did not any sound, nor the dvd+rw, nor webcam, Itunes tell me that there is something wrong with the audio configuration.:mad

I try to update drivers, to roll back, to uninstall and reinstall, using device manager. On device manager there is a yellow exclamation on the dvd+rw, on the webcam, on the Intel(R)537 v9x DF PCI modem, on the Microphone (that comes with the webcam), on SoundMAX Integrated digital audio, and on the Plug and Play software device enumerator.:(

    I have a dell dimension 4700, windows xp home, I think sp2.

    :crybaby Please help!!! :crybaby

    Hi and hello

All the drivers you need for your PC will be here http://support.dell.com/support/dow...temID=DIM_P4_4700&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

First one I would install is this the Chipset or Motherboard driver
    http://support.dell.com/support/top...plash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=104426

Followed by The Analogue Devices Audio Driver
    http://support.dell.com/support/top...plash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=122481

    Then the Intel 537E,v.9X,PCI,Modem
    http://support.dell.com/support/top...plash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=178142

once those are done, and you have re-booted how are things now?

With the yellow ! mark on DVDRW what error code does it give? you will find that if you right click and choose properties on that device adn under Device status shoudl be an error code, also if you right click the device and choose uninstall and then re-boot Windows should pick up the driver again as they are generic, the downloads on DELL are Firmwares which are updates to the device itself and shouldnt be the issue here.

The webcam, well we would need to know its model and make to find a driver for that, it may have come with your Dell package but they dont list the software or driver on that page, also as its most likely USB unplug it and plug it in again BUT only after installing the 3 drivers above as the chipset one maybe the one to enable USB2.0 ports which its likley plugged into.
