I have been fighting a spyware war for a week now and I am continuing to lose. I have run all the programs recommended in the introduction thread and have also been running spy sweeper by webroot. I get the all clear on all the programs but still get flooded with popups with many different addresses, i.e. a.as-us.flakag, casalemedia, pinhead, about-blank to name a few. When I rescan again Adaware, spybot and spy sweeper find ezula, fastclick, clearsearch and other programs. I can't seem to get out of the loop. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you have complete ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal and you still have a problem, follow the steps below to post your HijackThis log.

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

Is this next line your expected start page?
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.rr.com/flash/index.cfm

If you are using WinXP or WinMe, make sure you have system restore disabled (per the tutorial).
For all OS types, make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Please run HijackThis and click on the "Open the Misc Tools Section" button on the open page. Then select "Open process manager" on the left-hand side. Look for the following process (or processes) and one at a time kill them by selecting it and then click "Kill process". Then click yes.
    C:\Program Files\dy0bq8kc\dy0bq8kc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system\facfcgkb.exe
    C:\Program Files\dy0bq8kc\88172460.exe

After killing all the above processes, click "Back".
Then please click "Scan" and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AD1E5481-A356-474F-B447-F306B1034369} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [tpjhcc] c:\windows\system32\tpjhcc.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dy0bq8kc] C:\Program Files\dy0bq8kc\dy0bq8kc.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wrmrcjqd] C:\WINDOWS\wrmrcjqd.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vs2T3tR] jgaazel.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AUNPS2] RUNDLL32 AUNPS2.DLL,_Run@16
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [eBt3Rjd7W] ir3nonce.exe
    O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe

This next line is used for automatic updates to HP software. Most people remove this and do updates manually because some of these backweb applications ar considered to be spyware. Its up to you whether you fix this next line or not.
    O4 - Global Startup: Updates from HP.lnk = C:\Program Files\Updates from HP\137903\Program\BackWeb-137903.exe

If you do not recognize the below line, fix it too!
    O16 - DPF: {F229AB32-7BF9-4225-B78F-B4680AE6FC23} (Snapfish File Upload ActiveX Control) - http://www.snapfish.com/SnapfishUpload.cab

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete:
    C:\Program Files\dy0bq8kc\dy0bq8kc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system\facfcgkb.exe
    C:\Program Files\dy0bq8kc\88172460.exe
    c:\windows\system32\tpjhcc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\wrmrcjqd.exe
    c:\windows\system32\ir3nonce.exe
    c:\windows\system32\AUNPS2.DLL

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is, uncheck it and try again. Other wise open Task Manager and kill the process if running then delete the file.

Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST).
Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log. And tell us how things are working.

Again, thanks for your help with this.

Yes, that is the correct start page for me.

When I was in safe mode to delete the files suggested, I could not find the following 2:

    c:\windows\system32\tpjhcc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\wrmrcjqd.exe

I did a search for the file names on my C: drive and the did not come up.

When scrolling for c:\windows\system32\ir3nonce.exe I could also not find it. When I performed a search for it, it was found in the directory

    C:\windows\prefetch

I did not delete it because I was unsure if this is the right file.

As of right now I have not had any popups which has usually been not the case. It appears the steps are working. Attached is my latest HJT file. Let me know what you see and if I should delete the questionable file.

    Thanks again,

    Spentony
