Epson R300 (have i killed it?)

Hi guys,
My epson R300 keeps now showing me a major error when i switch it on.
I have done the old waste ink pad trick and added a bottle to the rear of the printer to catch the waste ink now and I have reset the counter using the SSC Service utility.

This worked on my R200 last year...

But STILL I cant get past this error on my R300...

Any ideas people.??????????

The message that appears on the LCD screen is exactly this...

General Error.

I had this problem last year this is what I did and it fixed it.

The first thing I did was to take a paper towel and blot the ink from the waste trays. Then I turned the printer off, pressed stop then maintenance and power holding all three down simultaneously until a message appears to turn the printer off to reset. Turn the printer off then back on and you should be good to go. Hope it helps.
