Just wondering if anyone has experience with "Any Video Converter" from http://www.any-video-converter.com/ . Read about and download from http://www.snapfiles.com/get/anvvideoconvert.html

It seems to do the job -- if you have several hours. It also seems to be a resource hog.

I converted an AVI to MPG and it ran flawlessly on my home player.

My question is, to those who have tried this software; why does it take so long and am I not doing some type of setting correctly?

All converting software takes at least 2-3 hours. It has to synchronize your movie (tens of thousands of individual pictures and tiny bits of sounds) and make them watchable.

Some software does it more quickly than others, but speed sacrifices quality, and even the quickest software takes a relatively long time. I am not aware of any work around the time factor. Most converters give you the option of shutting down you computer when conversion is complete. Use this option and let the computer work while you sleep. :)
