4 in 1 shows as drives E thru H

I just added a 4 in 1 card reader & it displays as drives E, F, G & H, in "My Computer".
Is this normal, or am I missing a driver?

 

What were you expecting it to do?
A is usually a floppy, B also
C boot
D,E,F,G,H and so on are assigned to drives as they are added.

Interesting. I followed the link, took notes and then looked at my setup. I have Hide empty drives in the Computer folder selected and yet I have my two empty slots still showing with assigned letters.

 

Okay, I did some more searching and I now know what is keeping the empty drives showing.

Since I want hidden files and folders showing, I'll have to keep the empty slots as showing too.

 

I guess I was expecting it to act like a USB port & not be assigned until media was inserted. I don't have a problem with it, I just wondered if it was normal.
