IE home page can't be changed from anything other than Google/Dell page

I've just purchased a new Dell laptop and I can't change the Internet Explorer home page from www.google.co.uk/ig/dell?hl=en&client=dell-usuk&channel=uk.

If I do make a change in Tools, Internet Options, the change does not persist; it immediately reverts to the above.

I suspect that something is detecting my attempt to change the value and either preventing it or overwriting it with the above.

Please see the attached Hijack This log file. I would be very grateful if anybody could advise as to what might be causing my problems.

Note that I have attempted to fix the three R0 entries in the log file (using Hijack This). However when I run the scan again, they are still there.

    Many thanks in advance

I have now realised that what was preventing me changing my Internet home page was my security software.

Annoyingly, by default, the security software doesn't warn you that it has prevented the change; it just prevents it. Hence I wasn't aware that it was doing this.

Hence in order to fix my problem, within the security software, I briefly turned off home page protection, changed my Internet home page and then restored home page protection.

    Thanks again for your help.
