Is Avant safer than IE?

Everything I read indicates that Firefox is more secure than IE. I'm using a clone of IE called Avant. Does anyone know if Avant has the same vulnerabilities as IE? I have Active X turned off in Avant. I kinda like Avant better than Firefox (especially the easy use of Favorites/Bookmarks), but I would use Ff if you tell me Avant is just as vulnerable as IE. Thanks.

Avant Browser is really just a GUI for IE, it uses the same files as IE does, so no, it isn't any safer.

But I still prefer Avant over Firefox as well. It has just about every great feature you could ever want.

If you have ActiveX turned off then you've just made yourself much more safe. The remaining problem resides with the IE engine, more specifically the fact that it's been violated more times than a NYC hooker.
