I was hoping to find something along the lines of Diablo. Something that has good single player adventures and could also be played online. It would have to run on a p4 1.6(laptop), winxp, 512ram, and a 7500 mobility 64mb video card.

    suggestions?

You have to pay approx 12.95 per month of use. I personally didn't enjoy this "game" which seemed more like work to me! =)

I've got KOTOR at home, but haven't played it yet. IIRC the min requirements are fairly steep.

Another vote for Neverwinter Nights. Good single player, and they tried to recreate the old D&D multiplayer experience with the multiplayer, which turned out pretty good imo.

Do an MMORPG like Everquest or Star Wars Galaxies. They aren't very fun in the beginning but after a while the benefits start paying off. I'm an everquest guy my self and love it. The $13 a month thing is annoying but makes sense when you see all the maintenance and stuff they do to those poor servers. I was originally going to say KOTOR cause I love that game but it isn't much like Diablo.

forget all those! get Neverwinter nights! Free awesome online play! awesome singleplayer! right along the lines of diablo II. I am addicted to it, its a great game, and will run an really crappy stuff, right now im running it on a celeron 1.8, 384 ram, and crappy integrated vid card. make sure you get the hordes of the underdark expation if you want to levle your character past 20, id reccomend getting the gold editon with comes with both expantions, i think its like $20

I play a lot of RPG's, online and off.
There is no D2 substitute, the game balance, speed of action and overall quality has not been beaten. D2 is almost a first person shooter with experience retained. Blizz wants the game play fast and furious.
There are better graphics, better stories, but no real rival for fun gameplay. MMORPG's are boring after a bit. They are just too slow. Everquest is named that because it takes FOREVER to do anything. Final Fantasy is a little better, but around lvl 40 gets really slow, at lvl 50 it is just boring. AC2 is the same way, except the programmers hate the users and keep nerfing the strong characters. Not to mention AC2's quests are often so repetitve (temple quest anyone?) they are no fun at all.
What to do? Try each one, we can suggest, but you will have to love or hate a game yourself.
    And keep your D2 account.
