Hi there - please help me! I have a desktop computer that has been working fine for years. I recently got a laptop and a wireless router to set up. When I hooked up my wireless router to my desktop it permanently got stuck on "acquiring network address". I tried taking the router away and re-hooking my desktop directly back into the internet jack thingy in the wall and it still won't display the internet. I have no idea what to do - any tips would be awesome. Thank-you :)

I already clicked the "repair" button and it says "windows finished repairing your connection. You can try connecting again. If this problem persists, contact the person who manages your network." But it still doesn't work. I also called my internet provider and they said that everything is fine on their end. Help!!!
