questions regarding getting throught he read me and run first?

Hello..really trying to follow through on what you would like before posting questions but I have a couple beofre I can get to that point:
1. I already had Spybot and the latest version but cannot find your referral toImmunize and the SDHelper checked? I cant find the option anywhere..anyhow I ran it and but am confused?..do I only let it fix the items it found in red or do I select fix all items (even the ones in green) and let it fix everything?

2. Secondly..I ran counterspy(running windows ME) and it found 22 spyware detections..I tried to copy and paste the log to notepad but it said I didnt have enough memory and to close other applications to do so?..I'm in safe mode now?...how can I acheive this? also do I click on something to remove this spyware in this program or do you only want to see the log first?..the writing is so big on the screen I'm not sure if I can see the bottom of the page or not?tried adjusting the display in control panel but it would allow that...

I was able to get the other programs and am ready to go just need some clarification on these issues?..sorry to be a bother..thanks

 

The Immunization feature is on the left side of the program, it will have the icon of a blue shield with a grey stripe thru it. Personally, I would remove anything Spyboy finds.

If your having problems, dont worry about the log. It helps to have it but it's not absolutely required for us to remove these baddies.

Most importantly run the online scanners and attach those logs. If nothing else run Panda and Bit Defender and attach those logs with a current HJT log from normal mode.

 

ok i will thanks...my version of spybot is 1.1 REL 4...does that mean its obsolete or something...no blue sheild with a grey line in this version that I can see?

 

am i suppose to run bitdefender in safe mode as well? and the panda virus program?

 

That may be a problem, the current version is 1.4. I would recommend updating to this version, you can get it below.

If you're on Cable/DSL with WinXP it's best to because less things are running in Safe Mode.

Be sure if you do this you choose "Safe Mode w/ Networking" so you can have internet access. If your on dialup this will not work as you can't dial from safe mode.

 

no I have ME..I'll try again in safe mode...is normal ok ?

 

If you have Windows ME then you will have to run them in normal mode. I'm not familiar with Windows ME but I don't think it has Safe Mode w/ Networking.

Okay, just post the logs from the online scans with a fresh HJT log whenever you can and we will go from there.
