i like my computer to be tidy. My media players are installed in a Media Player folder, my art stuff in a Graphic Design folder, etcetc. However, some programs (like Internet Explorer) won't conform. They install themselves to a folder of their own choosing. Also, some programs create extra little folders and mess up my orderly Program Files folder. When i try to move or rename a folder though, Windows gets angry and tells me the peogram may no longer work if i do that.

Is there a way around this? Can i edit a registry entry? The GAC? Change config files? i would really like to put stuff where i want it.

    thx in advance :)

    In short, no.

Default Windows applications will need to remain where they are originally installed.
