    Hi.

I have a HP Photosmart C6180 all in one printer which has wi-fi capabilities.

It is connected to my home network, as is my laptop.

I reformatted my laptop recently, and set up the printer simply by adding a network printer using windows..Printers and Faxes -> Add a Printer.

It worked for a while but suddenly stopped working.

I tried printing something this morning but an error message came out..printer spooler service not started or something. I went to check services.msc but the service was started..restarting it did not solve the problem.

I then uninstalled the printer. Now I can't install it back.

When I try to Add a Printer..choose network printer..it scans but doesn't find anything..only Microsoft Windows Network..I can't find my printer listed there..strange because it still worked last week.

I tried entering the IP address of my printer into my browser and the configuration/summary page came out. Pinging it on cmd.exe also works...but windows just cant seem to locate the printer.

Shouldnt be a firewall problem since I had windows firewall on ever since I installed windows XP and it worked fine before.

Are there any additional services that need to be started?

    Any ideas?

Give the printer static IP out of the DHCP range, and install the Printer's Network software on each computer.
