ok, i have a craptacular emachines t-1855. it came with a 850mhz celeron cpu. i have a p3 1.0ghz cpu that i wanted to install but when i did the system wouldn't boot up. so i looked at my bios but i can see no config for a cpu. the computer has, as far as i know, an Anehiem 3 motherboard with Phoenix Technologies LTD 6.00 BIOs on it. i've contaced emachines numerous time about upgrading and all they can seem to tell me is that it will take the chip and there is no new update for the bios. anyone know if this thing can take the cpu or did i wast my money? i already know that i wasted ito n the computer itself but yano.
