    Application popup: 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem : C:\WINDOWS\System32\update.exe
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction. CS:0dad IP:01ce OP:63 68 65 2f 31 Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

Its more a nuisance than anything but i cant seem to find what it is. It happens now and then. This is may not be a Spyware Forum issue but more of a Software Forum issue. We'll see! You should have provided more information. Like your OS for one and exactly what are you doing when it happens. Can you recreate it at will? Does it happen in safe mode?

    Take a look at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314452/EN-US/

Also try looking at the Properties and Version tab info of the file (C:\WINDOWS\System32\update.exe ) to see who it belongs to.

hi chaslang yeah i did post it in software forum but get message dont double post sorry just really dont know if it is a software issue or spyware issue ?. Also if you read one of my other post in this forum you will see in hijackthis log file my os sytem etc etc. As for when it happens it just happens randomly here and there be it playing games or sufing the net even happened when i was away from the computer and it had blank screen saver on, when i came back and re-entered pw there was the popup again, so no i cant create it at will wish i could as i would know what was causing it. As for does it happen in safe mode have no idea as i dont run it in safe mode as it takes and hour sometimes or less. The update.exe file i clicked on properties and there is no version tab on it i even deleted it and it keeps coming back. Hope you can lead me into the right direction and thanks for looking at this for me.

Well that's part of your problem! Do not post in multiple forums and do not post multiple messages in the same forum for the same problem. Please stay in one thread!
