    "Win32 Generic Host error"

Ok I have followed all the the steps in Major Attitude's. I found a few things on my second hard drive that I cleaned up but I am still getting the system crashes. Here is my HJT log. I really am at a loss as what to do next. To be honest I am not sure if its spyware or software....

    Any sugestions?

I should clarify. My system isn't shutting down every 60. It is completely random. I can't not pin point any action that I do that causes the error. Half the time it happens over night while I am not even at the pc.

I ran blaster and my system is clean.

Awww man not weather bug  lol. Ok I rid myself of the required lines and programs.

So far no restarts, but as I said the are random at best. I did happen to copy down what the error report said... or some of it. (this was before I knew I could stop the shut down process so this might not make any sense.

There was an error with Oxcooooofd in possibly a location of Ox76a9f4el

It included files svchost.exe and rpcss.dll

    then the lines: Docum~1\Amanda\Locals~1\temp\werbb36.dr00\app compat.tex

(Ok that might be a little scrambled, postits aren't that wide so >.< the last part from temp on might be switched.)

Not sure this does you any good.. but there you go.

OH yeah heres my new HJT log

BAH! Just stoped a restart. I tried to get the lines but it stoped responding. However, i did get the error signature.. if that counts for anything good...

    Error Signature:

    szAppName:svhost.exe
    szAppVer: 5.1.2600.2180
    szModName: rpcss.dll
    szModVer: 5.1.2600.2595
offset: 0001f4e1 (not sure if those should be zeros or o's)

    Any ideas?

OK, you have a couple of services that appear to be broken.

    O23 - Service: Prime95 Service - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Prime95\prime95.exe (file missing)
    O23 - Service: Remote Packet Capture Protocol v.0 (experimental) (rpcapd) - Unknown owner - %ProgramFiles%\WinPcap\rpcapd.exe" -d -f "%ProgramFiles%\WinPcap\rpcapd.ini (file missing)

Check to make sure those files are in fact missing.

I looked. They are not in the folders that they are suppose to be in. Nor are they anywhere else, as I search the c: drive for them.

    prime95.exe
    rpcapd.ini

If you still use those applications then a simple uninstall and reinstall may fix the problem.
