itunes download problem

    i downloaded itunes because i recently got an ipod. i uploaded songs last weekend with no problem. Last night i imported songs off some cds into itunes and plugged my ipod in but itunes didnt find the ipod. i went to apple.com for some help and they told me to uninstall all the components of itunes and then reinstall it. i downloaded it again and clicked the setup but got this error message:

    C://Documents and Settings\Colinsgrl70\Desktop\iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

    PLEASE HELP!
