Your not going to get much improvement with any upgrade if your planning on keeping that motherboard ;)

It supports dual core processors was thinking about getting one. I don't know if the bios would be compatible though.

    Hey there,

I used to do second hand sales and new p.c's as well.

In my opinion if your machine is about 3 years old - sell it before its worth nothing, make or get what you can for it. Check the second hand market if you dont know what your current p.c is worth, auction sites etc.. Then use the funds from this to offset the price of your next p.c.

Alternatively if your comfortable with rebuilding, and the existing power supply is upto your new hardware requirements, sell of the old mobo and cpu and start fresh with new mother board cpu ram etc.

Otherwise your previous investment is just going to devalue till its worth nothing.

I had an uncle that used to get a new car every 2 - 3 years. He reckoned that the price he paid versus the money he lost was still cheaper than renting hiring a car for each year, plus he always had a pretty modern car...perhaps think of p.c's with a similar approach.

Anyways good luck with this, your new units going to be faster which cant be a bad thing;)

    Hey there,

If your really not that sure try investigating your board at motherboards.org.

They have a fairly extensive listing of motherboards, or even better try the manufacturers website.

    G.luck in your quest.
