    Greetings,

    System: Windows Vista 32 bit.

I've had a continuing problem with browser windows hanging/freezing, sometimes for about 20 minutes. No pop ups, no redirection, just unresponsive and hanging.

Over at the Firefox forums they suggested refreshing the browser, restarting with add ons disabled and then reinstalling. Problem continues to occur, usually starting about 10 minutes after I turn the laptop on and log in.

The good people at Major Geeks have helped resolve another issue years ago so I came back to the Vista malware Cleaning thread.

Downloaded and ran the programs in order: logs attached.

Rogue Killer was the only one that presented problems, the remainder ran correctly.

Your input and assistance is appreciated.

This is not a malware problem. Your logs are all clean.

I would have completely uninstalled and also very important, delete all the folders related to Firefox. Like the below:
    C:\Users\Pioneer\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

Then I would have rebooted and reinstalled.

These are not problems. They are due to your antivirus program.

    Thank you for clarifying.

My anti virus is Trend Micro - can you point me in the direction of possible causes for the hanging.

I will uninstall and then delete those files you mentioned.

My best guess would be that it is due to the fact that your PC does not have an adequate amount of memory to properly run Vista and everything else you run ( especially your antivirus program ). Your logs show the below
    Code:
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 1.00 GB
    Total Physical Memory 1.00 GB
    Available Physical Memory 180 MB
You only have 1 GB of memory and I recommend no less than 3 GB with Vista. Also have on 180 MB available will slow your PC down a lot. And the longer your browser is open, the more tabs you have open and the more surfing you do, the more memory your browser will need and you don't have enough. Thus it will start caching to disk and will get very slow.

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
