Extraction failed...file is corrupt

I have tried numerous downloads of the current free AVG virus program from various sites - all with the same results when time to instal..."Extraction failed..file is corrupt"

This is a reinstallation of the program after flushing the previous program out of my PC in all areas and I have no other virus or adware programs installed. Using the installation slide indicator I have reached as high as 85% and as low as 5% !

My o/s is Windows XP Home Sp 3

What firewall are you using? Sounds like it could be malware...

Try installing an alternative anti-virus such as Avira first. Both AVG and Avira AntiVir are good free anti-virus programs.
