Cables?

    Possibly a stupid question, but should there be cables connected to a cd drive I just bought or do the cables in my tower automatically fit? They are both dell products? Also, I want this new one to be read only (which it is) and use it for all my reading. I want my write drive to be used just for writing. how should I set them up? slave/master 1/2nd Ide? Thanks!

    the ones you have will do,

    IDE ( can if you have a 3 connector IDE cable daisy chain it with another drive ) If you are going to have 2 drives on the same cable tho as you already stated you need to set one as Slave.
