    Are ye running xp pro?

If so, then click START, then RUN, then type in: gpedit.msc (press enter).
Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System and in the right hand pane, select the “Display Shutdown Event Tracker” setting.

Double click on "Display Shutdown Event Tracker".

Click Disabled. Then quit (close) group policy editor. and reboot. It should be fixed when ye next reboot or shutdown.

This is turned on by default with windows 2003 server (can be turned off, btw... :) )
