Default Texting while driving - DUH!

This one is equal parts sad, funny and stupid:

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/...132609321.html

Here's a quote from the web link:

The Texas man typed this message to a friend while driving home from college earlier this year, "I need to quit texting because I could die in a car accident and then how would you feel ..." A few seconds later, Bothe's pickup veered off a bridge and dropped down a 35-foot-deep ravine.

If he knew it was dangerous , why the f was he doing it in the first place?

If so, I want to know the make and model of the phone. Most of the ones I've seen and owned can't survive a drop of 5 feet, let alone 35.

Someone most definitely needs to come up with a "12-Step" program and/or HUGE fines or something like that; for these 'serial texters' as well as other assorted cell-phone addicts.

Also, distracted 'pedestrians' who are texting very often can stumble into danger - or even worse than that; cause dangerous situations to others who just happen to be near these idiot texters when it happens.

This kind of crapola occurs all the time here in our area (practically on a daily basis, actually). Check out this kid: (And get this: Her parents even blamed DPW)!
