A houseguest cannot access my wireless on her Win XP laptop. Her computer's Services list is missing Network Connections. NetDDE is there but not svchost.exe -k netsvcs.

The computer has been rebooted. Router is working with other computers.
    Device Manager shows no flags.

    How to fix this?

Might need more information here. XP networking is actually pretty basic all things considered. If her net card is set up and working it should connect. Any error message?

The only error message was when I tried to get to Help and Support, and got the news that a service was disabled. That led me to discover that Network Connections is not on the XP's Services list.

If you have a flash drive then download SystemLook and copy it over to the Desktop of the problem PC.

Run SystemLook and paste/type the content of the following code box into the main window
    Code:
    :service
    Netman
    SharedAccess
    wscsvc
    wuauserv

Press 'Look' and a log will open when it's finished. Zip the log, copy it your PC (via flash drive) and attach it to your post.

Save and extract the reg file from the attached zip archive. Transfer it to the problem PC. Double click and allow the file to merge with the registry, then Reboot.
Is Network Connections now listed in services?
