Alright Earlier today I was having around 50 processes at start up, is there a way to keep a lot of unneeded things from starting up? I checked the guide which gave a link to some other site and followed the "safety" disabling. (I did this way before though). But this is not my main problem.

My main problem is when i decided that I wanted to update my Graphics Drivers. So I went to the ATI website downloaded the X1900 drivers and isntalled them. But I got somekind of error during the installation and when i clicked ok the install acted as if it worked and made me restart.

So i went to the problem page on ATI site and saw that I must uninstall all my ATI programs so i did that but ATI Catalyst Control Center will not uninstall. I keep getting the same error

"1: The InstallScript engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available please install the latest version of ISScript.msi, or contact your support personnel for further assistance."

I then downloaded the ISScript for version 8 and reinstalled it. I continued getting this error. So i cannot uninstall this program. And i am still unsure if I received the latest driver...

Then there is creative removable disk manager and creative system information. I keep getting the same error for both of these when I try to uninstall it.

    "H:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{57FA4E0F-82C9-417D-87BC-0186D6CB7A44}\CmnSupt.CAB not found."

One last thing, when Comcast came to install everything for the triple play, they installed Desktop Doctor, can I uninstall this without any problems?

I guess what I am trying to ask is if there is anyway to uninstall something without problems... or a way to fix these.

Try accessing Safe Mode by pressing F8 rapidly when your computer is starting up and try to uninstall the ATI Drivers that way.

If still no success try the program CCleaner. Run not only the Disk Cleaner part of it, but also the Registry.

Let me know if this helps...

Did you go through all of this? Reinstalling the installer doesnt appear to eb the only step.

Also...for the creative issue, once the installshield issue is resolved, you can reinstall those drivers over themselves to re-add the uninstaller, then you should be able to remove it.

I tried to remove ATI control center in safe mode.

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."

I looked through that installshield website

on all their problems, i did not find mine.

The killbox is for deleting files not uninstalling, but it gave me an idea. Would I be able to use killbox to delete all the files from the control center, then CrapCleaner to remove the registry and delete the entry from Add/Remove? Would that have the same effect as Add/Remove or would that just **** my computer up?

if you type in the full address it should remove it all alternatively you can use search function type a keyword and let it find it but be sure which program you delete it may find several with the keyword I.E. if you type ADOBE it will find everything with the word ADOBE.

i give that example because i used it to get rid of ADOBE ACROBAT (it got corrupted and the uninstaller would not work) before i reinstalled from my CD

nope the killbox did not remove it, i can remove the files for it. which i just did because apparantly there was an Add/Remove option for it that was like .02mb big and gave me the choice to modify, repair, or remove. So i removed it. But there is another Add/Remove option Actually called "ATI Catalyst Control Center." This one is around 65 MB big. This is the one I am having troubke with removing. I tried using CCleaner to remove the entry, but i just got he message "Cannot Delete MSI Installer."
