Here's what I wrote to CNN.

The CNN story is a good read.. but I feel like telling Jesse Jackson just where he can stick it! as hell

Kodo - I agree with you. Bill Cosby is right on the mark. What Jackson does is polarizes issues. Cosby has the guts to be the real leader to tell his people.

All right! Way to go! Hey - where's the guy who gave me a trophy? Kodo needs a trophy too! Can you imagine what will happen if CNN picks up on this?

Yes, Jesse Jackson should be "exposed". But even if they don't deal with that aspect you may have started an avalanche affect. i.e. Forget about "dealing" with Mr. Jackson. We want action FOR THE LEMON FAMILY -- Yeah - let's get the Lemons in the public eye and watch what comes their way.

I'm not good at this - but maybe you can find the MG thread(s?) about the Lemon family and put it here so newcomers can read about them too (not just the website) ???

Jesse Jackson thrives on the oppression of the black man. I never once saw him stand by Clarence Thomas, when he was being slandered. He would not know what to do with himself if he would focus on positive things. In my opinion, he is the worst enemy of the black man. He will keep them oppressed as long as he can. Instead of focusing on people like Judge Thomas, Bill Cosby, Alan Keyes, and many many others who have shown that black men can overcome that false oppression put forth by the likes of the Rev. Jackson.

CNN knows and they have no intention of exposing Jackson. CNN believes that opposing him is a form of racism. Contact Bill O'Reilly. He's not afraid of Rev. Jesse and would be happy to expose more examples of his crooked activities and false promises. Contact him here: oreilly@foxnews.com .

    media ideas

I have to contact media sometimes in my job. Once it was the BBC and other media in the UK (no response though because it was re: easyJet airlines who they were too afraid of losing the $$$ from -- note to UK readers, don't fly easyJet) But I digress.

Anyway, first copy your letter and send it to every person/department/address you can find for CNN -- even if you don't think it relates.

Second - ask Erika and EVERYONE else that approved her story/worked on her story/took pictures for her story, etc. to do the same.

Third - ask the churches/volunteers that are involved with the Lemons to write letters to CNN and make copies also and send them to whoever you have sent them to. Obviously they trusted Jesse Jackson to hold to his promises.

The more the merrier I always say.

Multiple messages to multiple people may eventually strike a chord with ONE PERSON and that is the ONE PERSON you need (and it might not be the person who got your first letter)

Good for you Kodo, what an outstanding Job you have done.

I happen to dislike very much the Fake Rev Jesse Jackson. The manipulator of causes for his cause.
I am so glad to hear that Bill Cosby is going to really start talking about the truth rather than to ingore it.

    same as English and Scottish?
Same as "African American" and "Mexican American"?
    Why not just American?

People want to remember where they came from. . .if we want to label people from where they come from and not who they are ( "P.C.") we may be all long winded. . .
    Ex.
"I was at the park and this AngloIrimexiafrichebrejamaswedirussian American Cathabuddajew helped me when I fell and broke my ankle."

I mean come on. . grow up. . .the only people that are complaining about the "n"- word are the "black" people who use it most. . .

I think it was Fox news, I am not sure, but these two white guys where asking the "black" director of the movie The "N" Word about the use of the word. And He used it in context more than for discussion. When the "whites" use the word it brings out years of oppression. Who is opressing who? I'm not. I hate everybody. . .I don't have a problem, and I have never owned a slave. If you got a problem your the one who won't let go, if you can find some 200 year old ex-slave owner go kick his wrinkled butt..

Life is full of B.S. no matter where you go, can I go to an all "black" school?
Yes' I can. For free. I am "white". I am not proud, I am not ashamed, I just am. My best friends where 'black" does it matter only if you want it to, but why would you want it to.

What Bill said about your children and what they need to or not to hear, see or do is where it starts. . .now! ! ! People who wnt their children to be a certain way will do it no matter what. We are all the same, no matter where we come from or where we are. All people have a different history, one person or a whole group. Remember don't thrive.

I'm jewish. I don't hate every Blond blue eyed person just because their Grandpa might have been a Nazi. I wasn't there I live my own life

I agree 100% with everything you just said. Never understand the whole "this-is-where-my-ancestors-came-from"-American" thing. Isn't it more about where you come from? America! Maybe if you lose the labels you will lose some of the bigotry. It seems though as if the stereotypes are the ones who always want to perpetuate their stereotype and then bitch when they get labelled as such.
Maybe in our kids lifetimes there will be more change. God, I hope so.

Globally I consider myself American, but I do have ancestry which I am proud of ..very proud of. Sicilians and Italians (not to exclude other nationalities of course but they are not my focus) helped build much of NY state. Its' buildings, it's business and it's unique "attitude" so to speak. Why should I have to say I am American only, when clearly I am not. I have no hatred toward races and I think that is also plainly evident. If I was, would I be so outraged by Jackson and at the same time put up quite a bit of my free time to help the Lemon family? It's pretty much up to me how I choose to refer to myself. I think I have that right. If you want to call me an American, that's fine with me. .if you want to call me a Sicilain American, that's fine with me as well. I think calling one's self by their heritage is part of the dynamic of our society as a melting pot. Most everyone who lives here has some non-native American heritage. So why not include that as part of our society? We all know we are American already. Some just choose to define themselves a bit more and I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

However, please don't percieve my being proud of being Sicilian some sort of God complex. Half time around this board we are joking around. We have a good time and I'm not sensitive about it at all. It's all in fun.

    Now, back on topic.
( i'm going to eat my meatball sammy now ) :)

Thats fine with me. All was just saying that labels are to be placed by ones self not other people. No God complex issues where addressed. To some, where you come from is you are, other people don't know that. unless they ask:

    Joe: "Whats your background?"
Tom: "I'm Irish, German and English on my Dads side.
Irish, Polish, Dutch and Greek on my moms.
    So I'd say I'm Irish?"

but how do you know when it's "safe" to ask?

to all those who feel opressed. . .find a . .and relax

Oh, pooh, I'm really sorry I didn't mean any of you guys, I was thinking about all the crap that goes on in Ca with the gangs and stuff, the Mexican-Americans vs the African Americans etc. I didn't mean any slur against anyones heritage or anything.
Deepest apologies, I was actually thinking of the article I read in the newspaper by Mr Cosby. Sorry all.
