    Good Afternoon,

As I was an idiot and didnt realize my protection was turned off, I suddenly started getting Adware prompts etc.. appears to be a trojan.
I have been working on this for nearly 7 hours now and am getting quite frustrated. I am stuck in Safe Mode no matter what I do in the steps provided. Every time I attempt to boot normally my PC freezes. I have checked the boot ini and all the boxes are unchecked.

I cannot install Spybot or SuperAntispyware as I am stuck in Safe mode.

I was able to run combo fix and MBM. MBM appeared to have erased all of the threats as I did a subsequent scan after the first, but ALAS, still stuck in safe mode. Please note, this log for MBM is from my initial scan.

As I do not have internet via Safe Mode I am using a usb drive from another pc to move files.

I am not sure what I am missing here in the process.

I am about to throw my computer out the window... Please help!!

I think I finally got rid of it. I was able to install sypbot through some complicated methods and it found the trojan. It was a virtumonde. However, now when I windows first starts up explorer does not automatically load .

    Any thoughts?

I have this all fixed now. Have ran Spybot and MB to double check it and its all clean. I also ran the cleaner program and created a new restore point to gav ensure no more future issues.

Thanks for this forum, I wish I would have found this when I had the same issue with an old computer.

    Well,
after reading through a lot of posts and google forums I finally opted for doing a clean XP install. I am now fully functional again.

Again, thank you for helping me remove the trojan, I just think I accidentally or somehow had to delete some reg files that made windows act all weird. I got really tired of trying to figure out what was going on through the recovery console.
