How can I/is it safe to delete .cpy files?

    I have a 18Gb HD Windows ME PC with 256MB RAM. I have only 8% of my C drive free...so I want to delete the temp folder which has 5Gb of files in it. Is it safe to delete these .cpy files? And I have tried to delete an odd one before but access is always denied as they are in use. I have booted my PC up in safe mode but I still get the same message. I have got HD cleaner, Crap Cleaner and Empty Temp folders 2.8. The first 2 don't delete the .cpy files and the 3rd one always freezes...


    Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
