How do I clone entire system from Desktop PC to new Laptop (bootable on laptop):

From
Desktop: Acer Aspire ASE 380-USD 480A
OS: Win7 Ultimate 64bit Sp1
AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 4800+
Disk: 400GB, partion C / D 180 / 180
To
Laptop: HP DV7-2185DX Laptop C2Q 4core Processor 2GHz
Disk: 500GB
Disk is wiped clean, No OS

Can this be done, where do I start; any problem.
Do you have product to do this ????

I want Laptop to be duplicate of Desktop.

If so, you will legally need another copy of your OS (Win7 Ultimate 64bit SP1) to use on your laptop.

You can't clone a machine to another machine unless they are basically identical. You have different motherboards, chipsets, etc, etc.

 

You probably can't entirely.

There are a couple of products which will try to migrate your programs over to a new computer:

(and I thought Acronis used to have something like that)

I don't have experience with either of them.
