According to my Windows 7 Device manager, the device called SM Bus controller is not working correctly because the driver is not installed. I've tried to fix it myself,by downloading what I though were the correct chipset drivers, but the attempted installation of these drivers caused my computer to blue-screen.
What can I do to correct this problem? My system specs are attached to this post.

The link you gave me seems to be broken and ASUS's site I find almost impossible to navigate. I did try attempting to install a chipset driver as my motherboard appears to use Intel x77 chipset, but that caused it to blue-screen as I mentioned. Furthermore I did install a Asus driver but now I get error messages about "target not found" when I boot-up.so I'm loathe to fiddle with ,something,as I've heard stories about what can happen when a driver install goes wrong, but on the other hand I'd like a system that works as it should..

I did but seeing I'm having a hard time locating the right drivers to install, I'm worried about removing the present drivers, unless I have them. The last thing I want to to wreck my system, seeing I've only had it for about a month or two,if that.

Intel Unified AMT 7 Management Interface Driver is needed for the SM Bus controller, what is your system type?
