Problem unknown, help required.

Hello and thank you in advance. I've come across a completely annoying problem that I can't seem to take care of. I've had trouble with my internet lately so I ran a full scan using Ad-Aware SE and nothing came up. So I went ahead and installed Norton AV and as soon as I updated everything I ran a full scan using that as well. Again nothing came up so I assumed everything was alright. After that I popped up my browser and bam norton went crazy scanning emails that I wasn't sending. Curious where all this was coming from I ran cmd and typed in netstat to see what kind of connections were active and there were tons. I have a great image that I unfortunately can't post but three of the god knows how many connections were - mercury.bus.msu.edu:smtp, mta-v8.mail.vip.mud.yahoo.com:smtp, mail.4ax.com:smtp....I'm not sure if any of that information is helpful or not but i'd really like to get rid of whatever this is. If anyone can lend me a hand i'd really appreciate it. Also any information you may need feel free to ask. Thank you again.
