Please attach the MGLogs.zip separately. Also, download ComboFix to your desktop and run it. Attach the log when it is finished. Do not mouse click or do anything while it is running.

 

You need to uninstall:

Messenger Plus! for Skype

Do you know what this is ( it seems to be related to McAfee ):
e:\windows\system32\mfevtps.exe.e877.deleteme

Use windows explorer to find and delete:
E:\Documents and Settings\FREE BALLIN'\Templates\31xons04mf

I don't know what the following is, but let's delete it:

Download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.

See the download links under this icon
Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop.

1. Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
2. Click OK at the warning to continue to use The Avenger
3. Do not change any of the check box options!
4. Shut down your protection software now to avoid possible conflicts.
5. Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of The Avenger
   
6. Now click the button
7. Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
8. Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when The Avenger finishes running.
9. Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
10. A log file from The Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will pop-up for you to view when you login after reboot.
11. Attach this log to your next message. (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post )

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).Make sure that you watch for the license agreement for TrendMicro HijackThis and click on the Accept button TWICE to accept ( yes twice ).

Then attach the below logs:

* C:\Avenger.txt
* C:\MGlogs.zip

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

 

Your logs are clean. I suggest you post in the software forum for further assistance.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.We recommend them for doing backup scans when you suspect a malware infection.
2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
   
   • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
   • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
     
     • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
     • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
     
     
   
   
3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
   
   • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
     for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
   • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

Do you have your XP install disc? If so, put it in your CD drive and go to start / run / and type:
sfc /scannow

Then re-run Combofix when it is done and attach a new log.

 

The you will need to see if someone else has one and borrow it.

 

Delete any copies of ComboFix.exe that you already have and download and save one from the below link to your Desktop:

combofix.exe

Now we need to use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.

• Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
  • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
• Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
• If ComboFix tells you it has expired or need to be updated to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
• Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:

• Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
• At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
• You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
• Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
• Follow the prompts.
• When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
• I will ask for this log below

Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

If after running Combofix you discover none of your programs will open up because you recieve the following error: Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion then you will need to reboot your computer which will normally fix this problem.

Now download the current version of MGtools and save it to your root folder. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

Run MGtools.exe ( Note: If using Vista or Win7, make sure UAC is still disabled. Also don't double click on it, use right click and select Run As Administrator )

Now attach the below log:

• C:\ComboFix.txt
• C:\MGlogs.zip

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

 

Was the disk for the exact same version of Windows XP?

You cannot use your friends key. It is illegal and it could potentially render not only your PC unusable but also may invalidate your friends licensed Windows XP.

We cannot help you withi this in the malware forum. You are not having malware problems now. You basically have a broken Windows installation and it would be better to continue in the Software Forum. However do not that they cannot support you using illegal keys for Windows. You need your own licensed Windows key. If you don't have one, then you need to get one.
