Italian translation help please

Is the proper translation for the word "welcome" to Italian, "benvenuto"?

This is to welcome a foreign exchange student to our community.

Thanks Mr. Bill. That's what the google translation gave me, but I wanted to confirm with a multi-lingual person. And I know the Belgians are all multi-lingual.

I can not take the credit, i have a neighbor who is Italian so i asked him.

They have a saying here that "the Belgians and Dutch have to be multilingual because no one else speaks Dutch"

 

Okay, the next slide should read; "President and Next President".

This google interprets to; " Presidente e il Prossimo Presidente"

Is this correct for Italian?

I keep thinking about learning another language, Welsh would be cool but very hard lol, I would like to speak Russian though or Polish would be good because my lady is part Polish, that would be cool... but alas with wishes of fluency in other native tongues I have to boldly admit that I'm still struggling with English :-D
