Hope this is the right place for this
Trying to install a wireless network adapter driver (both NETGEAR Wg111t and also Realtek USB device). On every occasion VISTA tells me "Problem encountered installing driver" - but gives no reason why. Tried "backdoor" approach through device manager and browsing to raw drivers folder - same problem....??

Is this just another VISTA problem? - any suggestions would really be appreciated. thx

    Hi

Get latest driver for this device which is Vista compatible http://kbserver.netgear.com/release_notes/d103172.asp

Remember to be logged in as Admin and at times if the normal route doesnt work, run the .exe for the driver as Run as Administrator ( this helps with some stubborn drivers )

Also if you have a firewall or AV app unhook from the internet and disable them as one could block the install of a network device.

Cannot always blame Vista for another makers drivers not working.
