I have a card reader/writer (thumb drive) to carry files from work to home, using a Lexar 1GB SD disk

it worked OK for a few weeks,

but now it won't write any files,
it says "disk is write-protected" "must remove write-protection"

what caused it and how do I remove it?

    thanks for any help

is there a switch on the disk? with a lock/unlock picture on it?

there is a switch on the side of the disk (I never noticed it before) but it does not have any lock/unlock picture by it

i switched it back and forth but it did not change the error message

that's the write protect switch, unlock means you can write, lock means you cant, read only. you might have to disconnect it and then switch it
