Default Mcafee security center vs Windows Defender

Both Macafee anti-virus & Windwos Deneder came installed with my Dell XPS 9100 Windows 7 O/S. Should both be turned ON....or should Defender be turned off?

Windows Defender is in the background and on all PC's. Leave that. At some point Mcafee will expire and you will need to decide to pay for it or get a free anti-virus.

NOT in the case of Windows Defender. It plays well with others.
