2 annoyin problems

1) im not sure if this is spyware but when i open up a certain user's documents and go view hidden files, a pop up keeps coming up which i have shown as a screenshot.

2) this is not spyware but its annoyin me, i accidently created a network bridge(whatever that is) but it wont let me delete it, keeps saying 'an unexpected error occured while configuring the network bridge.' (also shown in screenshot.

pls help me get rid of these annoyin things

The first one doesn't look right to me. The second one you may want to reinstall you chipset drivers.

Please follow the steps below:

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps below:

- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

Uninstall MessengerPlus! 3 using Add or Remove Programs from the Control Panel.

Next Open Windows Explorer and delete this Directory C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3.

MessengerPlus is filled with spyware.

Have HJT fix the following:

Your HJT log shows no signs of having completed any of the on-line scans requested in our READ ME FIRST. Please go back and complete all the steps in READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Post a Fresh HijackThis log after you are done.

 

i cant find messenger plus 3 in add or remove programs but i do see it in Program Files, wot shall i do

 

i see MSN Messenger 7.5 so im gonna uninstall that

 

If it isn't in Add or Remove Programs then look for the Uninstaller in C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3.

i must of deleted the sponsored stuff so im resintalling it again then uninstalling it properly

Download, Install and Run
- Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

Look for C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3

 

i installed it and ran it i think but nothin has happened

Post another HJT log, it may no longer be running and you can just delete the directory.

damn lol i did it and it still didnt return to add/remove!

ok ill do wot it says on that thread, btw i tried system restore and that doesn't even work anymore

 

To re-enable System Restore.

* Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT and press Enter
* Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ SystemRestore

* In the right-pane:

* Delete the value DisableConfig
* Delete the value DisableSR

 

the folder system restore isnt there, only Terminal Services

im going to use the sticky thread and start from beginning, i downloaded most tools, but when i boot in safe mode with networking, i cant go on the internet to do the online scans...
On the thread it states that u should select 'Safe mode with networking support' but on my screen u can only select 'Sade mode with networking'. Is that the same thing?
help pls thx

Are you on dialup? Modems aren't supported in Safe Mode.

 

how do i check my active x settings?

 

Right-click on the IE icon on the desktop, select Properties, click-on the Security tab, click-on the Default Level button, click-on Apply. Next click-on the Privacy tab, Setting should be Medium, if not set to Medium, click-on Apply, Click-on OK.
