Need Help Badly

I have a hp pavilion ,and everytime i turn on my computer on,my screen goes blank.
if i push the monitor button off and then bk on,i can see my screen for about 30 secs or so.
been trying to get on here all day,but the same thing keeps happening .
Just a few mins ago '' about 20:25 " i pushed my monitor button off and
then back on again,and it is staying on now.
did the same thing yesterday too.Pushing monitor button off /on...off/on.
then at 18:17 the screen styed on.
CAN SOMEBODY / ANY BODY TELL ME WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON PLEASE???
THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!
And yes i have a good conection.and power too.

 

Hi can anyone tell me when I go into the startup menu in msconfig what needs to be on there if anything
