Video cutting software

Does anyone know of any software (preferably free!) which will easily allow me to chop up an hour long video into ten minute segments for YouTube? I have Nero Vision and Windows Movie Maker but it's very fiddly doing it using these, plus you have to export the cut clip to make it into a clip in its own right. This is time consuming and it degenerates the quality of the already-grainy clip (which I have converted from VHS to MGEG-2 format).

Any help would be appreciated.

 

try the program called "Gsplit 3", to cut large programs and videos into many pieces. It is a freeware program and has great reviews on download.com:
